Beats Pill Plus is a portable Bluetooth wireless speaker that would satisfy your mobile music needs. Pill Plus is slightly larger than its predecessor, the Beats Pill. Weighing 1.5 lbs, it feels solid and refined when you hold it in your hand – you know, that luxurious feeling you get with other Apple products.

A full charge would take 3 hours, and you get around 12 hours of playback on moderate volume level. Behind the perforated metal grill on the front are 2 x woofers and 2 x tweeters. The Beats Pill+ uses an active 2-way system allowing the tweeters and woofers to produce optimum frequencies independently.

Beats Pill Plus sounds surprisingly larger than it looks. If your desire calls for even more expansive sound, Beats Pill Plus App allows you to link 2 Pill Plus speakers together for an even fuller stereo sound. Vocals are natural and warm. Treble is detailed, smooth and crisp at the same time. The bass is heavy enough to make most song sounds complete – not lacking.

Beats Pill Plus is offered in 3 colors at present time, black, white and the fancy Product Red.

Are there any noteworthy alternatives? Take a look at gesture controlled Bang & Olufsen’s Beoplay P2, and the shockproof and waterproof Ultimate Ears (UE) MEGABOOM.

Beats

Beats was founded in 2006 by music producer and rapper Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to produce cool looking audio gear, primarily headphones and earphones.  It was owned by HTC, a Taiwanese cell phone manufacturer.  At present day, Beats Electronics has become subsidiary of Apple and headquartered in Culver City, California.  This explains Beats' headphones being spotted all over the walls of Apple Stores. Many audiophiles consider Beats' headphone to be all hype and no substance.  This may be true at some points, however some of Beats' latest generation headphones have received positive reviews from music enthusiasts.
